When Waiting Becomes Worship

ree

Laeh didn’t ask for much—just a laptop.

Not the sleek kind with glowing logos or lightning-fast processors. Just something sturdy enough to carry her through college. Something to help her keep up in class, finish her reports, and feel like she belonged.

But belonging came at a cost her family couldn’t afford.

Each day, she watched classmates typing away, their screens glowing with possibility. And each day, she felt the ache of lack. Not just of a device, but of dignity. Of ease. Of being seen.

Her mother noticed. And in love, tried to help—borrowing money, searching stores, stretching thin. But even then, the laptop Laeh had hoped for was gone. The alternatives felt wrong. Her heart sank.

And then came the question that changed everything:

“Do you really need it?”

“Can you finish school without it?”

“Let’s pause and pray to God about it.”

That pause became a turning point. Not just in the story, but in Laeh’s soul.

She meditated on Isaiah 30:18:

“Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore, He rises to show you compassion. For the LORD is a just God. Blessed are all who wait for Him.”

Waiting didn’t feel like a blessing; it felt like falling behind,

like being forgotten.

But semester after semester, Laeh pressed on—without a laptop, without complaint.

And slowly, the ache turned into peace.

She realized: what she thought was a need had become a want.

And what she wanted most was to trust God’s timing.

Two years later, a message arrived from her cousin in the US:

“I’m sending you a package.”

Inside was a laptop—better than anything she’d imagined. P

re-installed with every app she needed.

Prepared by someone who knew exactly what she lacked.

Delivered at the perfect time.

✨ What This Story Teaches Us

  • Provision isn’t always immediate—but it is intentional.

    God doesn’t rush. He prepares.

  • Waiting isn’t passive—it’s formative.

Laeh didn’t just wait for a laptop. She waited with God. And in that waiting, she grew.

  • Sometimes, what we think we need reveals what we truly long for.

Belonging. Dignity. Trust. And the quiet assurance that we are not forgotten.

🙏 A Prayer for the Ones Still Waiting

Lord, For those who feel behind, unseen, or under-equipped—Remind them that You see.

That You rise to show compassion.

That Your timing is not late, but loving.

Help us wait well. And when the answer comes, may it be more than we asked for.

May it be exactly what You knew we needed. Amen.
